i —? An extraordinary meeting of the Remoer* Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last evening, to dtecnss a proposal to- erect a new .pavilion. A set of plans was submitted by Mr E. Mahony, the cost of the building bein<* £SOO. It was. .unanimously decided to adopt the plans, and to calPfor tenders for the ereeOon of the building. The bui'ding will be of two storeys, the bottom floor consisting of club, committee and refreshment rooms, and the top occupied by a social room: Two large balconies will be affixed, and there will be a tea pavilion, with kitchen and ladies' clubroom.
The need of a stand near the •wharves ' for the tethering of leader horses byj carters doing heavy carting was brought under the notice of the City; Council last evening toy letters from thrt Prevention of Cruelty Society and Messrs, Winstone, Ltd. The letters were referred to the Streets Committee for ■consideration. «
