MESSRS ALFRED BtJCKLAND 1 AND SONS' REPORT. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' report that sit the iioymarket they had an average entry of horses, and good demand to" all sound, young, useful sorts. Aged draughts sold at from £16 to £30; active light harness geldings , , £18 to £25; youug col>s, suitable for butcher's cart, £16 to £24; buggy horsrs and hacks, £12 10/ to £22 10/; gig ponLes and ordinary ihackH, £3 5/ to £11; pony stallion realised £21.
We held our monthly sale at Pokeno on Monday, when a moderate yarding of stock changed hands at full values. Dairy cows, £4 5/ to £5 10/; empty, £2 5/ to £3 10/; IS-months to two and a-half year steers, £2 15/ to £4: yearlings, £1 15/ to £li V; good calves. £1 to £1 5/; small fat steers, £6 10/ to £7 5/; fat cows, £5 to £5 15/.
At Runciman on Wednesday there waa a large muster of stock. Dairy cows, unless close up, were dull of sale; other classes sold'at lute values. Dairy cows: Good. £5 10/ to £8 17/6; others, £3 10/ to £5; empty, £2 6/ to £4. Two-year steers, to £3 5/; three to four-year-olds, in forward condition, £5 to £«'; yearlings, £1 ie/ to £2 «/; god calves, £1 1/ to £1 10/.
Ac Eemuera on Thursday dairy oows sold frino £3 10/ to £0 10/: dry, £2 10/ to £4 5/. Fat and young calves, in full supply, sold freely, email to S/, medlunj to 25/, heavy to £2 10/; 100 sold. Fat cattle came forward iv less thun average numbers, and consequently met with keener competition. Ox beef sold from 23/ to 25/ the 1001b, cow 2U>' to 23/. Steers ranged In price from £7 10/ to £13; cows. £5 to £0 5/. Sheep also were hi better demand, best wethers reaching 27/, lighter weights to $23/, weighty, owes 22/ to 2",/, others to 21/. noggets to 21/. Spring lambs wanted. Those penned brought high values, averaged 23/3 each. Pigs, penned in usual numbers, kept resent quotations: porkers to 35/ (Id per lb); baconers to £2 10/: sips to ISA No small came forward. Poultry, 1/11 each.
Hides. Skins, Tallow, etc.: Hides—Ox. s}tf to G*d; cow, s}d to oEd; kip, 5d to 5Jd; calf, to 7d; horse. S/6 to 14/; damaged at relative values. Tails, 1/6 dosen; horsehair, 1/8J to 1/71: tallow, 21/ to 23/: bones, 4/9: roueh fat, lid. Skins—Best butchers*. 7/7 to 10/: medium, 5/6 to 7/4; small, 3/5 to 5/; damaged, 1/1 to 3/2.
