Extraori dinary allegations have been made by i counsel for the Marquis , , who assert? that the Marchioness' father (Mr. Thomas Sutherst, a barrister) was an undischarged bankrupt, although he agreea , , on Ms daughter's marriage with the Marquis, to settle a sum of £27,000 and 1 £2000 : a year on the Bride. [The Marquis is 40 years of age, and married Miss Sutberst last year. Shortly after the wedding it appeared that he had Become, 3.3 rt was said, "a prisoner in his own house," and the Marchioness expJained that she had kept him under control for his own good, as he had fallen under the influence of undesirable companions, and was in a state of mind rendering , restraint necessary. A subseI quent medical examination at the J instance of the Commissioners in I/nnacy i resulted in the decision that there were no grounds for this restraint.]!.
