SCENERY CONSERVATION SOCIETY. - The committee of the Scenery Conserve* tion Society held a meeting in the seere. tary's office yesterday. Mr joslnh Martin presided, and there were also present ■ Messrs Burtt, Bell, French, Parkinson, Taylor, and Holt (secretary). The follow ing resolution of sympathy with Mrs Beddon was carried: "That the committee of the Auckland Scenery Conservation Boelety expresses Its deep the lrreparab'* • loss to the colony and the Empire by th* ' death of the Bight Hon. Richard Joha Beddon, and conveys to Mrs Secjdoa an* family the sincere sympathy, of the mem» bers of the society." It was decided to visit Papatoitol school on Friday next, 'and to grant a dozen ornamental.shrubs and tree! < to the Drury School Committee, for the'.r grounds. »Tne secretary reported that he had sent the trees asked for to the Uppelr Waiwera public school. The question •of appointing a vice-president in place of the late Rev. Dr. Pnrcnas was deferred to next r meeting.
