MR. SEDDON'S BIRTHDAY.
►> ! (By Telegrapn.—Own Correspondent) WELLINGTON, Friday. To-day was the anniversary of the late Premier's birthday. Naturally enough, the occasion was an exceptionally sad one, for elaborate, though quiet, arrangements had been widely made for celebrating the occasion in a particularly happy manner. Quite a number of organisations had* decided to reeo.TiiKP the day. and personal friends were" 5 also making preparations for the celebration of the. anniversary. Instead of this, ftie grand old man oi New Zealand pohtics lies slewing his last sleep upon the quiet hillside overlooking the town. Tbe members of the Ministry this afternoon paid a silent unofficial visit to the burial place, as a last tribute of respect to a loved and honoured colleague. No individuals probably are more Effected by the Premier's death than are those members who were associated with him in the Ministry.
