Yesterday Mr Bishop, SM., heart several charges against local tradesmen of selling indecent post-cards. In eeve» ral cases the defendants were found guilty. The magistrate reserved sentence till Tuesday next.
The directors of the Canterbury Froaen,,, Meat, Dairy Produce and Export Company, Ltd., have declared an interim dividend at the rate of 6 per cent per annum on preference shares, and 8 per cent per annum on ordinary shares, fo»r . the half-year ending May 31. The Ghristchurch Drainage Board ha* } received tenders for debentures feprev senting a total of £57,300, ranging from par to £2 11/ premium.
A battue of the Rakaia Gun Club on Rakaia Island resulted in 101 hares being shot. The Kyle and Doric Gua Club on Craig Estate got 280 hares with 16 guns.
