At noon to-day a small fire occurred in fhe premises owned and occupied by Mr Hudson, bacon manufacturer, Frank-lin-road. The City Brigade were promptly on the scene, and succeeded in extinguishing the flames before they got a good hold of the building. The fire originated through a chance spark igniting some clothes which were hung before the fire to dry. The damage is very slight. D.S.C.
