In tie House of Lords the Under-Sec-■nstarv for War (the Earl of Portsmouth) j in reply to the Earl of Wemyss, jnade an important statement in regard to the home defence of Great Britain. They had a mobilisation scheme, enabling them to mobilise as quickly as any Gonthjental nation. The two services were entirely in accord concerning measures of defepce.
