CHEISTCTiURCH, Sunday.
It is officially stated that the Government has decided to gTant the -whole oi the sum asked for by the managers of the associated technical classes and the proposed technical day school. The grant has been made on the amended plans, which, were a modification of the original proposals. The sum originally asked for was £7500, but the Government suggested reductions, including the abandonment of the museum hall and one -workshop, thus Teducing the amount by £ 1850. The balance of £-5650 has now been granted, although £2650 of the amount -will not. be available until March, 1907. Building operations will be commenced on the South Belt site as early as possible. There ■will he a main building and two -workshops for metal and -woodwork. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. GISBORNE, Sunday. John Barclay Clibborn, aged about 72 years, was found drowned near the wharf this morning. Deceased had formerly been an inmate oi the Old Men's Home. WELLINGTON, Sunday. The coal hulk Enterprise foundered this morning alongside the wood wharf, apparently owing to the heavy jobble. She was recently purchased by the State Goal Department, and has about 120 tons of coal aboard. Both cargo and bulk are insured.
