DEPARTMENTAL CHANGES.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

WELLINGTON, this day. I understand that Mr Geo..Leslie, Re. gistrar of Friendly Societies, has tendered his resignation, and that efforts are being made to induce him to withdraw it. ' ' ' Important changes are also pending in the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture. Mr D. Cuddle, Assistant Chief Dairy Commissioner, has been offered the Chief Dairy Commissionership of Victoria. Mr Thorton, Dairy Grader in Auckland, has also been offered, an important appointment in the projected Dairy Department of Victoria. It is said that the recent visit to this colony of the Hon. G. Swinburne, Victorian Minister for Agriculture, is not altogether unconnected with these offers.
