MOUNT ALBERT'S NEGLECTED ROADS?
-"•'--■ J' - (To the -Editor.). < 'i-- "'.- J .: p . Sir,—rl observe from the last report of. the proceedings of the Mount Albert Road Board that some £40 were voted towards the repair of a road where nothing had been done for 20 years. .; That is all right, (but what about the unfortunate people who live on roads in the district where absolutely nothing has ever been done for them, and these roads within a .short radius of Mount station? The Board has been busy naming the streets lately (some of these are wise and some are otherwise), hut with, winter at hand gravelled, footpaths would have been far more acceptable. Surely it is ibut ordinary fairness that every year should see a, certain proportion of the rates returned in this form •without the demand to provide pound for pound with tire ?;oard. Let the ratepayers see to it that men are put in at next election who will promptly put this matter on a- proper footing and so encourage people to settle and stay in Mount Albert.—l am, etc., CLAY ROAD.
