GREY LYNN.

The Grey Lvnn Council met last night. Present: The" Mayor (Mr John Farrell), Crs. W. W. Dumper, C. B. King. W. ti. Smith, A. Donald, G. Sayers, W. Martin. The Tramway Company obtained permission to stop the tramway service on Good Friday to enable the employees to- attend their annual picnic. Arch Hill Gully.—The Town Clerk, Auckland, wrote asking the Council to make a grant towards cost of cleaning Arch Hill gully. The Mayor explained that altnongh Grey Lynn mi-ht not be legally liable, still there was a moral liability to see this place clean in the interest oT public health. The Council agreed to make a grant, the question of amount being referred to the Finance Committee. Disraeli-street.—itr R. C. Foster asked to have the unsightly hump in this street removed a.« formerly promised. The Mayor said the work was really required to be done and would not cost much. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee to report. Reports.—Accounts totalling £106 6/ were passed for payment- It was decided to cut Warnock-street at a cost of £45. and that the footpath in front of Mr Short's new block of brick shops at Richmond be kerbed and channelled, Mr Short to pay half cost. . Tennyson-street.—On the motion of tne Mayor, it was decided to continue the metalling of the cross street.
