ECCLESIASTICAL.

Harvest thanksgiving services wero held in a number of churches yesterday. At St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Ponsonbv, the Rev. A. Macaiilay Caldwell conducted the services. ''The Parable of the Harvest" was dealt with in the morning. ''What Will the Harvest Be" at night, and in the afternoon, the address to the children was on "Flower?."' The Rev. Ivo Bertram also conducted harvest thanksgiving services at the Devonport Presbyterian Church. At the morning service Miss B. M. Stewart sang "Consider the Lillies," and in the evening Mrs Sutherland contributed "O Divine Redeemer."' At St. Matthew's Anglican Church sercial harvest thanksgiving services were held yesterday. The Rev. B. Jeeks preached in the morning, and the Rev. W. E. Gillam at night. Miss Annie Gilmour sang "Consider the lilies' as an offertory solo. ANNIVERSARY SERVICES, The 54th anniversary of Beresfordstreet Congregational Church was celebrated by special services yesterday, when the Rev. John Wilkins preached at 11 on "The Church of fche Living God," and at night on "The King's Business," '"'Abraham's Prayer" was sung as an offertory solo by Mr W. Aspinall. At Graiton-road Methodist Church yesterday special services were held in connection with the anniversary of the Sunday-school. Special hymns were sung by the scholars, assisted by the choir. The Rev. W. R. Tuck preached in the morning, the Rev. J. J. Lewis at night, and an address to the children was given in the afternoon by Mr T. T. Garland. The Kingsland - Methodist Church celebrated its 48th anniversary yesterday. Farewell sermons were preached by the Revs. J. J. Lewis-, and C. H. GaTland, and the Rev. T. W. Newbold preached at night.
