A man named George Cline. a lumper on the wharf, who lives in Hobsonstreet. met with an accident this morning. It appears that lie was working at some packages on the wharf when the hoop-iron surrounding one of thorn broke, giving him a nasty cut in the corner of the eye. He was taken to the hospital, where he will be detained for a few dars.
An accident occurred on. Saturday last at Glenmurray, 15 miles from Mercer. Mtb Osborne and her Sour children were driving in a buggy, when the horse bolted, and in rounding a sharp curve overturned the vehicle, throwing all the occupants out. A baby 15 months old, wh owas sitting on the- mother's lap, sustained rather severe injuries, the right thigh being broken, the wrist dislocated, and the whole body and face bruised. The others, -fortunately, es- ! caper more Tightly. The unfortunate baby was brought to the Auckland Hospital during the afternoon.
Sydney E. Gregory, the well-known cricketer, made application, to the Registrar in Bankruptcy at Sydney on Tuesday for his certificate of-; discharge. The Registrar found that, bankrupt had failed to keep proper books, and therefore ordered the suspension of his certificate for sis months.
