The Industries and Commerce Department baa received the following cable from the Hi-n Commissioner, dated London, Mth .ilarch:— There is no change to report in the mutton market since last week, the lamb market is quiet, but steady. Sales are increasing owing to low prices. The prevailing ar-?ra?t price of Canterbury lamb to-day IS-u"* There IS a better demand for beef. I The average price of hindquarters is 3£d- ; weighty forequarters are quoted at 23d j "The bntter market is very unsettled, home holders are forcing- sales. whiK-t buyers are holdin- back, expecting- prices to go lower. The average price> of choice New Zealand bntter to-day is 100/; Australian, 94/: Danish. 118/ pPr rwt.
