Inquiry was also made to-day ior r Paper Mill shares at 2-2,, but ao sales •resulted. Taupiri Cost! shares were firmer, being wanted ax 20/3. and Hikurangi Coal were in request at 14/3. Mew Zealand Insurance shares changed hands at 114/. and South British were wanted at 118/. In mining stocks both Waiotahis and Talisman Consolidated s (•were firmer this morning, -while Moanaj fcaiaris advanced. In the case of the j WaiotaM it would seem as it the aci- ! ranee to 118/ is due to developments in j the mine. Moaiiataiaris sold up to 1/8, |'and are still wanted at 1 9. Owing tn I the fact that it is now believed the Waiotahi and the Cambria are distinct lodes, consequently t-lurt the Waiotahi reef should yet be mteresocted iti tho Moanataiari ground; if it continues its present course. Kuranui-Cale< lonian shares have been quietly picked up dnring th? last day or two. and further sales took place this morning at l.'i, I .•'at mole were offered at t&e same tiuure. Shares in the New Moanataiari G.MCompany showed an iroward tendency to-day. Thi? is probably din» to the fact that the manajrer, "slr G. Clark, is now of opinion that developments in the Waiotahi mine prove the reef worked so successfully in that property to be identical with the Cambria lode. Should this prove to be the ease it naturally follows that the WaiotaM reef has not been ■worked in the Moanataiari ground, and judging by the present course of the Waiotahi reef should be cut by the crosscut now being put in.
