TONGARIRO MAORI COUNCIL.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUPO, this day. ! Four hundred natives assembled at Tokaanit on' Monday Ta"st, taking greit interest in the return of • the members of the Tongariro MaoAi Council. No opposition was shown and everything was unanimously arranged between the various tribes. The Council, is composed of representatives of .the- verious. settlements around Lake Taupo, also. Taumarunui and Moawhango. . The whole conduct of the proceeding? was. under the superintendence of Judge Johnson of the Native Land Court, and gave great satisfaction. The assemblednatives consumed a very large quantity of food, and the native women paid great attention to providing the-neces-sary requirements. Everything passed off- in a highly satisfactory manner; •
