The s.s. Waikare .arrived from Dunedin via ports at 7.30 a-m. to-day after a fine weather passage. The Waiiare sails for the South again on Saturday.
The Shaw-Savill steamer Matatna, which sailed from Wellington for London last Saturday, took the following cargo from Auckland: 9225 boxes butter, 218 cases cheese, 316 kegs butter.
The machinery for the new sax. pole schooner Fairburn, which Messrs Bailey and Lowe are building for Messrs Cranby and Co., of Napier, are expected to arrive on, Monday next. The engines are of 22 h-p., cf the Hercules type. The Fairburn will be launched about tie end of the month.
Messrs L. C Gillespie and Sons advise that the barque Fulda has sailed from East London, South Africa, for Auckland, and is due about the end of February to load kauri gum and Pft for New York. The barque F. J. Wickerstrom, jun., will follow the Fulda on the berth, sailing in April.
The Ayrshire arriTed from the West Coast of England and Australian ports this morning. She left Liverpool on December 11, and experienced fine weather throughout the passage. The Ayrshire loads for West Coast of England ports, and sails for the South about Tuesday next. Capt. B. Coull is in command. The chief officer is Mr C. Forder; second, Mr E. W. J. Nnrsey; third, Mr -W. McKenzie; fourth, Mr H. Rose; -chief engineer, Mr C. Howarth; second, Sir B. Butterworth; third, Mr W. Skinner; fourth, Mr S. Shean; chief steward, Ttfr o.
