THE SEAMEN'S DISPUTE.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

DITNTEDES, Tuesday.

In the Arbitration Court to-day, in the seamen's dispute, Mr W. Belcher, secretary of the union, continued Ms address, and had not concluded when the Court rose for the day. He reviewed the evidence, and contended that the hours were too long, that the men were entitled to the privileges asked for; and to an increase in wages. In the course of his remarks Mr Belcher said, from information he had received from Australia, he judged that before long there ■would be a move among the seamen not only to get an increase in but to secure an improvement in the conditions of work.
