His Excellency the Governor and party, who have been spending a few days at Kawau, arc expected to return to Auckland this aitcrnoon in the Lady Eoher'ls. On Saturday next Their Excellencies will attend the Maori huihuiliga at the Metropolitan Ground. Mi and Mrs F. Larsen returned to Auckland yesterday by the Victoria. Dr. R. H. Makgill left Auckland for Wellington in the Rarawn yesterday. Mr A. Rosser returned from his visit to the Wellington district yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Goodson were passengers by the morning express to Rotorua. Dr. and Mrs Weeks arrived in Auckland yesterday from the South by the Zcalandia. The Rev. Fr. Donovan arrived in Auckland yesterday from Gi.-»borne by the Zealandia. Mr T. Allen arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Victoria after making an enjoyable tour of Europe and the East. Mr and Mrs A. J. Tapper returned to Auckland yesterday from their trip to England. They were passengers by the Victoria, and were accompanied by the Misses Tapper. Mr and Mrs Burfoot, senior, of Arch Hill, returned to Auckland from Europe by the Victoria yesterday. They were accompanied by their son and his wife, who went to Melbourne to meet them. Mr G. Homan Barnes, business manager for Mr J. C. Williamson's Strand Comedy Company, who are to play "The JP." here shortly, arrived in Auckland yesterday by way of the West Coast, to prepare for the local production. Mr M. Hamilton Hodges, who has musical engagements to fulfil in Wellington, Christchurch and other' Southern towns, left Auckland yesterday by the Rarawa for the South, and he will be away for some weeks. Amongst the passengers returning to Auckland .yesterday from Europe, via Australia, in the Victoria was Mr George €rOW, superintending engineer of th? Northern S.S. Co. He has been to Scotland to superintend the construction of the company's new steamers.
