TWO WELLINGTON SUICIDES.

WELLINGTON, Sunday.

Mr J. Holmes, a clerk in the Treasury Department, committed suicide this morning by hanging himself. Deceased had been in ill-health. An inquest is being held this afternoon.

WELLINGTON, this day.

A man named Edward Pearcey, aged 68 years, committed suicide at his residence in Barker-street this morning by cutting bis throat. The deceased, who was a married man with a grown-up family, had been rather eccentric for some time past. In the case of John Holmes the jury returned a verdict that the deceased committed suicide while in a state of mental depression and bad health.

ANOTHER SUICEDE.

CHRISTCHURCH, this day,

Henry Vigers, a married-man, a resident of Belfast, committed suicide yesterday by cutting his throat. His body was found in the scrub in the Waimakariri river-bed. Vigers suffered from insomnia. He left a letter giving reasons for his act.
