Sydney to the Wairoa Steamship to., Ltd., of Kaipara, N.z.., and she is now being prepared for the new trade. The steamer, which Is a trim cnt-water bow craft of 129 tons gross register and 78 tons net. has been laid up at Sydney since her withdrawal from the Port Stephens trade. She was built at Newcast.e last year. Her dimensions are: Length, 107 ft; beam, 21ft sin; and depth, 7ft lin. The new owners intend to use the vessel for carrying passengers from Dargaville to Helensvnie, in connection with the railway service. Hitherto the traffic has been carried on during the day, but in future it will be a night service, and the Baroona has -en purchased for that purpose. The two holds of the _*aroona are being converted Into passenger accommodation, and berths will be provided lor 55 passengers.
