A FISH TRANSACTION.
An Interesting case was heard t_ tlie £L__ Court this _ft_r_od_ by Mr ■€*. CL, ______ S_L, in which Joseph Suv___ and Daniel Baxter claimed from George S__t_ _ac &_»-__ £34- iS/lt ___-p3a—t~ t__s, who were fishermen, claimed to recover the price of certain fish delivered to b±_, and damages for prev_st_ig them from using a figlnng boat hired to them at £1 a- week. There was a counterclaim for rip—ages to the boat _n_ for bad fish destroyed, etc.
Mr Seed appeared far plaintiff, and Mr Skelton for defendant.
Mr Peed stated the plaintiffs —ere engaged by the defendant to fish far Mm exeluavely, and he agreed to take ail the fish they caught during the summer. He was also to lend them a boat at £1 a week. When they took over the boat they found it leaking and had to caulk it "before they could go out. They •.rent out, and were fishing for nearly three weeks, sending in their fish by the steamers. When they came back they found that after Smith had _____ numerous deductions they were entitled to £1 12/ for the three weeks* work, the deductions being made for allegedly bad fish, although they were taken over by defendant as under good order and condition.
