BLASTING ACCIDENT.

(B_ Telegraph.—■ Press Association.)

*___THAM, this day.

Another serious accident occurred on the co-operative works at Omona, 36 miles back from here, on Wednesday afternoon, a man, William Sangster, being severely injured by an explosion of a keg of powder. He had just put in a charge, and was closing a matchbox, when the head of a match flew off and fell into the keg of powder. Sangster and his mates bad a further miraculous escape, a blast exploding within six feet of them, while bis mates were rendering assistance. The accident occurred on a six-feet track on the edge of a cliff 120 feet deep. Sangster reached town last night, 28 hours after the accident, and was taken to the hospital. Hojies are entertained that his eyes will not be seriously affected.
