I FIEE BRIGADES DEMONSTRATION. • (By lelegraph.—Press Association.) CHKISTCHURCH, this day. The Executive Committee of the Exhibition resolved to ask tie Fire Brigades .uemonstration Committee to hold the annual demonstration in Christchurch early iv 1907. A proposal to erect a grandstand ou the sports enclosure, at a cost of £4lKi. was referred to the Finance Committee, in regard to the suggestion to hold a four days Agricultural and Pastoral Show during the Exhibition, the Finance Committee fcad to grant £1000 in aid of the scheme, and had offered £1,"i0 as a contribution. The Agricultural and 'Pastoral Committee reported that, under the circumstances, they did not think it possible for a show worthy of the occasion to be held.. It was stated also that the C.J.C. Committee werp tmnble to give up one day of their races to allow of a four days show to be held. The report financially was referred hack to the Agricultural and" Pastoral Committee, with the view of holding a conference with the Finance Committee. It was also suggested that the Commissioners should recommend the G-ovprn-ment to deal liberally with the scheme. 3t was reported that Mr J. Graham Gow tad been appointed travelling agent for the inhibition, a resolution was adopted congratulating Mr Robert Allan on his appointment as Executive Commissioner and expressing the opinion that the appointment would add materially to The success of the Exhibition-
