AJ_-US-__-U-_IT»» ■ "I.C IS S NANCE O'NEIL'S < Great .and Unique * FETAL DRAMATIC ACHIEVEMENT! MAGNIFICENT SEND-OFF And HAPPY FAREWELL WORDS HER MAJESTY'S THEATRE SYDNEY. ' r * MISS O'NEIL'S final performance in Sydney on the 29th nit was remarkable. The bill consisted of the third act of "Hedda Gabier," the Sleep Walking Scene ] from "Macbeth," the Curse Scene from J 'The Jewess," the second act of "Ingo- ! mar," and the third act of "Magda." Of this great histrionic feat, 'the Sydney "Morn- ' ing Herald" said:—"Throughout Miss O'Neil played in her best manner, WITH THAT DEPTH OF EMOTION and largeness of method which have secured her position for all time with Aus- ' trallan playgoers. She must be placed amongst the most striking figures that have appeared upon our stage, and her return to it WILL BE ALWAYS WELCOME. There was enthusiasm at the close of every scene, and at the end of the evening Miss O'Neil came forward, brightly majestic, as Magda, and made her farewell speech. She reminded the audience of the warmth of her reception five years ago, and added that on her return she found Australian playgoers as FRIENDLY AND AS LOYAL AS EVER. She felt that night that she was parting with the kindest of friends, and if ever she could do so she would revisit them again — (loud cheers) — but, if not, she would always think of them with AFFECTION IN THEIR BEAUTIFUL LAND."
