WAIOTAHL

PICKED STONE AT Nd.' 6 LEVEL. The manager telegraphed this morning: "No. 5 level, selected 701bs. of picked stone. No. 6 level, 41bs. of picked stone from the small leader in the crosscut."

As this is some 40 to 50 feet west of where the rich ore worked in the level above should be met with, the prospects point to the run of gold going down to this level.

THAMES MINING NEWS.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

THAMES, this day.

The May Queen battery is now engaged crushing ore from the Saxon and Moanatairi. The latter is only a trial crushing of five tons. The Saxon has between 40 and 50 loads on.hand. A good supply of quartz is also being won. The repairs to the new 40-stainper battery purchased by the Waiotahi Co. are proceeding apace. The tables are now being attended to, and tbe automatic feeders are being placed in position.

I understand that the engines formerly owned by the Moanataiari Co. have been purchased for erection at Warkworth.

Reports from the Waiotahi and May Queen mines are decidedly satisfactory. The quartz at No. 6 level of the former is said to be showing gold, while the prospects of the May Queen have much improved.

NEW ECLIPSE,

A crushing-of 100 tons of ore from the New Eclipse Mine, Tararu, yielded bullion estimated to be worth £222, Strong colours and blotches of - gold have, the manager reports, been seen through the ore when breaking down in the north block above- the low level.
