The afternoon session of the Anglican Diocesan Synod to-day was taken up almost entirely toy a discussion-on the following motion:—"That in view of the coming licensing poll this Synod commends to Church people the adoption of the no-license system as the best available remedy for existing evils-" An amendment was proposed urging all Churchmen entitled to- vote to take into most careful • consideration the issues involved, so that" eachmight' decide according to the dictates of his conscience how he should vote at the poll.
