■ THIS DAY. (Before Mr. R. W. Dyer, SAL) Previous Offenders.—The only two drunkards charged were previous of- : fenders. James Reid, who pleaded ! guilty, was fined £1, while Christina j Hoyle. convicted for the third time with- l in six months, was fined £2 with costs. By-Law Breaches.—John Costley was ! fined 5/ with costs for standing a horse on the footpath of Maekelvie- | street, and William Mason, the owner of a horse found wandering in Almastreet, Newmarket, paid a penalty of 10/ with costs. A batch of cyclists who were prosecuted by the police for riding their bicycles on the footpath in Manu-kau-road, Newmarket, were fined 10/ each and 7/ costs. The defendants were George Brook, Alfred Brook. John Fauluster, James Lester, Fredk. Stubbs. Alfred Jenkins, William Pullen, and Frank Roquet. j
