It is probable that the s.s. Rlppi-gham Grange will load at New Zealand pom in August next for Sooth Africa and West of England ports. The steamer will arrive la Australia shortly. The B.S. Moana arrived from Sydney at 6.40 p._u yesterday, haying been delayed on the passage by a heavy southerly gale. The steamer sails for Duuedin, via ports, to-morrow afternoon. The s.s. Hsupiri arrived from East Coast poriw on Saturday, and left for Whangarei last night to load cemeut. The steamer leaves Auckland for Last Coast ports at 8 a.m. ou Wednesday. The new steamer Squall sailed from Edithburg for Timaru last Wednesday. After discharging at that port she loads produce at Lytteiton for the Kaipara, and is expected to arrive at Heieusville about the 23rd Instant. An exchange reports that the promoters of the new Kawau river steam service will shortly call for tenders for the building oi a new steamer for the Helensville trade, and that it is their intention to have the boat constructed locally. -* The brleantine Carin arrived from Lytteiton this morning. She was becalmed for 3t> hours in the Cook Straits, and for a similar period off the East Cape. After discharging the Carin proceeds to Whangarei to load timber for Melbourne. The s.s. Awaroa sailed from Helensville yesterday morning for Auckland, and is expected to arrive iv port to-night. The steamer will be docked to-morrow for annual inspection and overhaul. This steamer is looked upon as the most up-to-date of her class in the colonies and is well worth a visit. The vessel loads cargo for Kaipara about Thursday. Messrs L. t». Nathan and Co. are the local agents. The s.s. Mararoa arrived from Dunedin. via ports, at 8.20 a.m. yesterday.
