• ; To-morrow being: the day appointed ' by the Synod for collections to Tw made in ;ill Anglican churches for this mission, i< may he of interest to note that the Bishop has two Archdeacons, 17 priests, eight deacons, one deaconess, and seven lay-workers on the staff, besides twelve ladies working in different departments. Last year was full of anxieties nf a financial character: in November it looked as though we were j almost at the end of our resources, but the English contributions came to hand just in time to save the situation, as the Bishop says in the postscript, to his report published in "The Southern Cross Log" for May:, ''We are much encouraged. T am just starting for the Islands with a thankful heart. Two or 1 three more such years as the last should enable us to jlo our duty to ! those committed to our charge."' Sure--1 lv. New Zealand Churchmen will not turn a deaf ear to such pleading.
