Another very serious submarine disaster, involving loss of life, lias occurred at Plymouth to submarine j AB, a vessel of similar design to Al, tiie crew of which was drowned ! some nzontlis ago through the submarine being run into by a liner i while manoeuvring with the fleet. 1 Three explosions occurred on ! board A 8 while t.fee vessel was ezerci3iug, the result being that rents were blown into her side, and she filled amd sank to the bottom. A full crew, eighteen in number, j I -aras aboard the submarine when I the explosion occurred, and of tliese only four were saved, fourteen be- j ing drowned.
