THE METHODIST CITY MISSION

GRAND BAZAAR AT THE FORESTERS' HALL. A grand bazaar and sale of work in connection with the Methodist City Mission will be opened this evening at seven o'clock by His Worship the Mayor (the Hon. E. Mitchelson), and will remain open to the public on the afternoons and evenings of the three succeeding days. The amount of good work done in and around the city by the Mission should alone be sufficient warrant f 'a liberal share of public patronage, but apart from this the bazaar will be quite able to rely upon its own attractions to ensure a big attendance of visitors. The large committee of ladies and gentlemen who are responsible for the arrangements of the fair have provided a programme of events for the three days that cannot fail to keep everyone busily amused, while a fine series of vocal and orchestral items will provide' sufficient music to feast the greediest for dulcet sounds. Among other attractions there will be such amusing diversions as hat trimming and stocking-darning competitions for male aspirants to those arts, and naildriving, cooking, shooting, and skipping competitions. What must prove of great interest to the younger visitors are the fish-tubs, electric cars, art gallery and post and- telegraph offices, while among the great number of stalls whose contents and attendants will doubtless induce no small amount of passing improvidence on the part of those that view them will be stalls for fancy and plain work, book-stalls, wood carving and refreshment and sweet stalls. Among the other features a shooting gallery in the charge of Colonel White should prove a centre of interest to the sterner section of the visitors. In opening the bazaar His Worship the Mayor will be introduced by the Rev. C. H. Garland, chairman of the Methodist Provincial District, while the bazaar during the three days of its tenure of the hall will be under the general supervision of the Rev. J. Wilson, Superintendent of the Mission.
