The hall was crowded to the doors with visitors, and the greatest enthusiasm was shown.

Dr. Hoeken. who has been in Auckland for a day or two, is on his way to the Bay of Islands, where he is to gather material from private records for his works on "Early New Zealand" and "Life of Marsden." He and Professor Henderson, of Adelaide, were entertained yesterday by Sir John Logan Campbell, and driven by him through Cornwall Park to the top of Maungakiekie.
