M. Thomson, analytical chemist, said he had received three tins of sheep's tongues from the police. One of these was opened, am , contained two tongues covered with mtrald. He treated the unopened tins for ptomaine, but the processes were lou£ and intricate. and he had not .yet finished." There was no metallic poison present in any of the tine. So far, he liad sot two extracts, of which one had no effect when «rive:i to a young animal. The othfr had been cot rid of by the animal immediately vomitins. The contents of the tins not previously opened were not very tempting, ami wore sported. There was no offensive smell, am! nothing jto show whether they were good or bad. i it any ptomaine were present he was bound ito get it by his process. James EL Cunningham, who had visited the tent of deceased, said Trudg-eon mentioned they had opened one tin, ami. not liking the look of it, had thrown it away. The Inquest was adjourned till Tuesday.
