The wool sales closed yesterday at above the last week's prices. Compared witJi the closing prices of the November saies, medium meriuos were unchanged: faulty and best, a halfpenny cheaper; fine crossbreds. unchanged; 10 per cent, cheaper; lambs' unchanged. Dnring the sales 143.000 bales were sold. 76,500 belns taken for Home consumption. Continental buyers took GDOO bales; American, 4000; held over, 5000 bales. The sales included the following clips:— Tara, 9Jd; Raukawa, lljd; Akitio, llgd; Rootwood, l/9§.
