Charles Lambert, aged nine, the son of the. postmistress at Paremata, was accidentally shot, in the lower part of the back and thighs yesterday while accompanying a shooting party. The sufferer wa6 brought to Wellington Hospital. DROWNED WHILE STUNNED. WANGANUI. Sunday. Albert B. Williams, eldest son of Mr. T. B. Williams, was drowned at Kaiiwi Beach to-day. A party were diving off the rocks, and Williams struck his head on a rock. A SUDDEN END. WANGANI", Sunday. Chas. Gordon, a well-known stablekeeper- who has been a resident at Wariganui for over 30 years, dropped dead this afternoon. SUICIDE OF A DRUNKARD. WELLINGTON, Sunday. An inqnest was held yesterday on the body of Joseph Rogers Clark, of Newtown, who was found hanging in his residence on Friday evening. A verdict of "Wilful suicide" was returned, be* j ceased's wife and step-daughter said he had frequently threatened to take his life. Deceased was 56 or 58 years old. The wife said they had been married seven years, and during the whole of that time she had never seen him properly sober. During the past 18 months he contributed practically nothing to the household expenses. A WAGGON DRIVER'S TRAGIC END. NELSON. Sunday. John Herbert Rntherford. a eingle man, 30 years of age, was killed on the Wangarooa Hill-road yesterday, by the capsize of a waggon he was driving, over the side of the road. At the inquest a verdict of "Accidental death" was returned. The evidence went te show that when passing another waggon a young horse in the lead pushed the other horses ever the side of the road. SCALDED TO DEATH. DUNEDIN. Sunday. Albert Brown, three and a-half years, fell into a can ef boiling water.at Kaitangata, and was so badly scalded that he died from the effects.
