THE GOVERNOR.
His Excellency the Governor (Lord Plunket) returned to Auckland last night from his fishing excursion to the Waimeha river, near Ongarue. It was
His Excellency's intention to remain there till to-morrow, but the river was swollen, and the conditions were none too pleasant. It was, therefore, decided to return to Auckland. Some good sport was obtained in spite of the weather, and a fair number of fish were caught. His Excellency was much interested in the country he passed through on his journey. His Excellency the Governor has consented to open the Horticultural Society's show to-morrow. The Governor has also arranged to be present at the opening of the poio season at Eemuera en Saturday. In the vening he will attend the opening perormanee of "Monsieur Beaucaire" at His Majesty's Theatre.
His Excellency has accepted the invitation of the Auckland A. and P. Association to attend the annual show on Saturday. November 2G. He has also -onsented to attend the Floral Fete in December, and aisc the Veterans' Home eoneert.
