'An exciting incident occurred-in-the Academy of Music last evening during the progress'of the Catholic bazaar here, When the Mayor-was about to address. the audience a keroseae stove used for boiling water in an anteroom next -the refreshment stall suddenly burst and set fire to a quantity of ferns. Some one cried out "Fire," and a panic seemed imminent, a portion of the large audience making a simultaneous movement for the doors. Those in charge, however, got the fire quickly in subject tion and stopped the rush before ib developed into a panic.'-The Academy of Music was packed with people at the I time."
