(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Th« usual meeting of the School of Mines Council was held last night. The director reported that the second term had ended »n the 2Oth inst., and that the school was now closed for tise usual term of holidays, and. would reopen on Friday the 9th September. l>iscnssion toot place on the question of lowering class fees in certain subjects and of applying to the Government for a sobsWy ou the fees paid. It was decided to defer further consideration of both matters till next meeting. The electrical sob-committee. Messrs. T. CJilmoor, A. T. Kenriek and W. H. Johnston, reported that a contract had beon let for die erection of aii and dynamo room. The school is now in possession of aH apparatus necessary for a complete microscopical examination of rocks and ores.
