A curious phenomenon was witnessed for a few moments about 7 o'clock last night. There was a brilliant mocn, ob scured occasionally by clouds, which banked up heavily in the direction of the West Coast mountains. As a rainstorm approached, some persons at the top of Richmond-road. Ponsonby. s_w a misty rainbow, which was caused by the moonlight rays acting on the falling rain. The hinar rainbow was not as large as an ordinary rainbow, and it had none of the latter's brilliance or beauty of colour.
