t IMPORTANT JUDGMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Chief Justice to-day. gave judgment in the Wairarapa case, Collins v. Walters. The Wairarapa South County Council bad passed a by-law prohibiting heavy traffic on any roads specified during certain months of the year. The roads w.re specified later by resolution of the Council. His Honor held that such roads must be included in a by-law after going through the usual formulas, and could not be included merely hy resolution. The conviction is therefore quashed.
