(By Telegraph.—Press Association*) i FIRE AT DTJNEDIK DUNEDIN, Tuesday. A fire 'broke out this evening in the storage room of Messrs Powley and Keast's bottling works. The storage room Mgas practically gutted, and a considerable quantity of whisky, beer, etc.. in the pla-ce destroyed or damaged. An ertimalte of the extent of the damage cannot at present be made. The building was insured for £1000 in the Liverpool London, and Globe. Messrs Powley and Keajrt's stock was insured in the Royal for £ 1500, and in the New Zealand for £600.

WANGANUI, this day. In the Police Court this morning a man named John Smith was sentenced to 12 months , imprisonment for committing a grossly indeieent act in the presence of several small boys whom he enticed from an iniant school.

WELLINGTON, this d&j. A decree nisi was granted to-day in the divorce suit of Mary Emma Spring v. Charles Henry Spring.
BOYS CHARGED WITH BURGLARIES
NAPIER, this day. Four Hastings boys, who were arrested last week on charges of being concerneS in six burglaries, were all committed for trial.
WATER POWER AN~D M/ECTRICITY.
WOODVILLE, this day. The Borough Oonncil has decided to obtain an estimate for the cost of lighting Woodville with electricity. The proposal is to harness the Mangapapa stream about sis inile-s from Woodville. The Council were unanimously in favour of the scheme. Messrs Graham and Gorrie, of Palmertson North, are to furnish an estimate.
