The s.B. Taiune left Gisborne at 9.15 s.m. to-day for Auckland. She will be due to arrive here about U o'clock to-morrow morning. The barque BJarne 3s expected to sail for New York about the end of this week. She takes a laige cargo of kauri gum from this port. The b.s. Anchenblne, under^charter to the Union Co., left FIJI yesterday with a cargo of sugar for Auckland She will be due here about Monday. The s.s. Mararoa, which left Auckland shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday, made a quick passage of _0 hours to Gisborne, arriving then, at 6.30 a.m. to-day. The barque Helen was expected io leave Lyttelton toe Auckland to-day with a cargo of produce. From this port she proceeds to the Thames to load timber for Sydney.
The barquentine River Hunter arrived In the Firth of Thames last Saturday from Gisborne. She was expected to proceed up the river to-day to load at Kopu for Sydney.
11l of the accident to the s.s. Takapuna lt has been arranged that the s.s. RoUU wll return from New Plynionth to-day to Onehnnga. The Takapuna takes up the Rotitl's running from N-ew Pijmouth to-morrow, the boats exchanging trips again at New Plymouth on the 17th Inst. THE STAR OF NEW ZEALAND. The Tyser liner Star of New Zealand arrived from Loudon and Australian ports at ti a.:n. to-day, after an uneventful weather passage. She left London on June S, Melbourne on July 27, and Sydney on the sth inst. After discharging here the steamer will proceed South ou Saturday moruiug, and then goes to Australia to load produce for England. Captain B D Beck, late of the Star of Victoria, who Is accompanied by his wife and child, is In command. The other officers are:—Chief Mr J. Auld, late of the Star of Victoria : secoud, Mr J. W.
