Sir, —Will you kindly correct an error which appeared in last evening's "Star"' saying there has been no regular orchestral work practised iv this city. The Auckland Fed<vral Orehrntral Society has been in e?:ist#no<» eighteen months, and has given three ron-oerts in t.Jie Choral Hall. They are now preparing for the fourth, which is to take place on 25th August. Lady Ranfurly is patroness, Mr G. A. Paque. L.A.M., conductor (a betrer musician could n«it be found in the colony , ), He.rr Kmitjser is leader. There are several leading citizens who subscribe, to this orchestra, a few of whom are Sir J. Logan Campbell. Hon. E. Mitchelson. Messrs David Goldie, G. Fowlds. M.H.K., J. .T. Craig, Dr. Savage- and H. Brett.
