Works and Tariffs Committee. —The committee recommended that the harbourmaster be instructed to remove the coat hulks anchored to the westward of Queen street Wharf to Shoal Bay: that in regard to the letter from the Agricultural Department as to site for fumigation shed, etc. the matter be deferred, a special meeting of committee to be held on Thursday t<? visit and inspect sites: that permission be granted Mr H. Mattson to erect bridge at Oakley Creek !n terms of engineer's report, upon the condition that such bridge shut: be removed upon three months' notice; In regard to water supply at Calliope Dec's, that the following offer be made to tlss Devonport Borough Council for water supplied at Calliope dockyard: One shilling per thousand gallons for water for decSs and Boardv, shipping, minimum amount to be £50 per annum, for all water supplied for use of vessels either inside or outsido of dock 2/ per thousand gallons; that consideration of the water supply at Auckland wharves be deferred until next meeting oi committee.—The report was adopted.
