The butter market is dull, and all transactions art on a very limited scale. Heavy suppiles of butter are coming to baud from the Continent and Ireland. New Zealand sheep, crossbred wethers and maiden ewes: Canterbury light. 45 to 56 lbs; Canterbury medium. "Mi to 64 lbs: Canterbury heavy, 64 to 72 lbs; Dunedin and Southland, 56 to 64 lbs; North Island. 55 to 65 lbs; New Zealand lambs: Canterbury light, 28 to 36 lbs; Canterbury heavy, 36 to 43 lbs; Dunedin and Southland, 28 to 42 lbs; North Island, 28 to 42 lbs. New Zealand beef: Ox fores, ISO to 220 lbs; ox hinds, ISO to 220 lbs. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, are in receipt of the following cablegram from their Loudon house:— "Wheat: We quote New Zealand long-berried spot ex granary 29/6 per 4961b5; short-berried, 18/9.
