OPPOSITION LEADER V. THE PREMIER.
(To the Editor.) Sir—lt seems to a layman like myself that borrowing money to purchase laud for close settlement is a matter of indifference whether it is borrowed within or without the colony. Should the time come when New Zealand becomes bankrupt (which I am very confident in thinking never will) the creditor will I not follow any particular or special 'loan; the colony as a whole will be the I asset. I am surprised that the Leader jof the Opposition should mention such i a re .iter, and still more, that the PreI iiiier should notice it. Politics is a nice | game to play at. If Mr Massey wishes to rule Xew Zealand he will require to do something better than give utterance to vague statements, from which one is to come to conclusions on inuenj docs. Let Mr _vL_ .sey propound his : policy. Lot him play the man. I like a I'" crap.'' and watching a set-to between | Messrs Massey and would be an ! interesting spectacle. Of course, the • w_ght of the argument would be with | the Premier.—l am, etc., j A.M.Z.
