DISTRIBUTION OF JAPANESE TROOPS
164,000 TROOPS IN COREA. INJZ. Peess Association.— Copyright.]
To-day's cables contain the news thai t]ie Baltic Sea fleet is to leave home waters on July 15th for the Far East. It yili be remembered that the original- intention was to despatch the squadron in August. It is stated that the Japanese snnies in Corea number 64,000 men in flSj but there is no indication as to the 'source of the news. Previous estimates considerably swell this comparatively modest total. If the news comes from g Japanese source, however, the reader •fill appreciate the usefulness of encourjcrißg the confidence of the enemy, and take the returns cum grano salis. The Japanese railway is reported to be progressing rapidly cowards the port of Wiju, at the mouth of the Yalu River.
