THE GOLDFIELDS.

■ ■ PROSPECTING AT OWHAORA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. With reference to- the recent find of rich stone in a creek near Waitekauri by a well-known prospector, I am informed that the discovery is likely to turn out an important one. The locality of the find is between Owharoa and Waitekauri, and gold is showing in the. stone. The prospectors are now making further investigations. They are ex- ! perienced men, and know the country, and the particular trend of the goldbearing lodes. Good progress is being made by prospectors in the Owharoa district, especially in the Veritas and Caledonian claims. It is anticipated that another 300 ft should brip£ the prospecting drive under the rich ore already located near the surface.
